SKU: ROLAND MARTIN: I have used the Spike-It dye as long as Spike-It has been making dyes. I cannot remember how long I have been using them, but I know that since I first discovered them, I haven’t been without Spike-It dyes in my tackle box. About 10 or 15 years ago, watermelon-colored plastic lizards were really hot while being fished on a Carolina rig. Someone came up with the idea of dipping the tail of that watermelon-colored lizard in chartreuse Spike-It Dip-N-Glo. The plastics industry quickly started creating watermelon-colored plastic lizards with chartreuse tails. However, I wanted to decide how much chartreuse I had on the tail of my lizard. Sometimes I wanted just a little bit on the tip of the tail and at other times, I wanted to completely dye the tail chartreuse. What I liked about the Spike-It dyes was that I instantly had the ability to put as much or as little chartreuse on the tails of my lizards as I thought I needed that day on that body of water. Once I found out the advantage I had by using the Spike-It dye on the watermelon-colored lizard, I started using it on other lizards and worms. I did not originate using the Dip-N-Glo with lizards. I just learned to use it from another fisherman on the professional fishing trail back in the early years. It only made sense to continue to use Dip-N-Glo not only on my lizards but also on my other soft-plastic baits. I could genuinely tell the difference in the number of strikes I got when using Spike-It’s Dip-N-Glo.
